Mopar Morning at Lake Afton
Sometimes the weather forecast prompts you to make last minute
plans to the lake. Sometimes the forecast is incorrect and makes your last
minute plans less appealing. This time though, the plans were still appealing, because there were a bunch of Mopars involved.
Autumn had arrived and the moody weather along with it. Sunday was forecasted for the mid-70’s so the local Mopar club got an itch for a last minute, hardly planned cruise. Many members had other obligations and couldn’t attend but there were still 14 vehicles in our caravan.
Dodge was the only manufacturer represented this cruise, but, there were five models represented with even more trims. There were 7 Chargers, 4 Challengers, a RAM, a Magnum, and an Avenger amongst which there were examples of the SXT, R/T, Daytona, Scat Pack, SRT4, SRT8, SRT10, and Hellcat trims.
So where’d you go? You ask. Well we gathered up at a Quik Trip on the west side of Wichita, Hopped on the 235 to avoid as many stoplights as possible and headed towards Afton Lake. We made two different stops around the lake for photos and then headed back to Wichita for lunch at Rib Crib.
It wasn’t the sunny Sunday we were promised, but it was fun just the same to have all these cool cars together and have good company over lunch.
