316ModernMopar March '18 Cruise
Local car club 316ModerMopar has been growing and modding all winter and they’ve been itching for some fun. Let’s go cruisin’!
An unsuspecting parking lot was the rendezvous point for more than thirty Mopar vehicles on a brisk March morning. Mopar was well represented by Chargers, Challengers, Magnums, Rams, a Wrangler an Avenger, and a Viper for a total over 30 vehicles. Once everyone had gathered in the parking lot we head out on the cruise.
Traffic was a heavier than expected so the group got a bit segmented on the highway, but, reassembled at the last minute pit stop. The pit stop involved crowding a gas station on the way to Lake Afton for snacks and a chance to chat amongst the drivers. The decision was made to avoid the highway due to traffic so a more scenic side street was chosen for the remaining route. This lead to a spectacle of over an eighth mile of Mopar traffic backed up at a stop sign. Eventually the group made it to Lake Afton and on the backside everyone parked in the grass for a photo opportunity.
The lineup was truly a sight to see. Any of these cars would be a treat to see on the road, but now over 30 of them parked side-by-side was really awesome to see. Everyone got out to get photos of the lineup; sharing this unique experience.
Once photos were taken, cars gathered up for the return to Wichita for a group lunch at Dudley’s. Conversations resumed with food and a few drinks about the event, cars, and life. The cruise was not only a gathering of cars, but friends and family.
