11th Annual Stearman Fly-in & Car Show
Continuing the Fathers’ Day weekend was a car show that you could only expect from a small town airstrip neighboring the Air Capitol of the World, the 11th Annual Stearman Fly-in & Car Show in Benton, Kansas.
This was an event unlike any other with one part Cars & Coffee, one part Americana Car Show, and one part Air Show. If you thought it was impressive seeing cars from the 40’s was impressive to see still on the road, wait until you see a plane from the 40’s still airworthy.
This show kicked off during Cars & Coffee ICT earlier in the day so there were several cars that just headed over after C&C, but there were some interesting cars nonetheless including a Chevrolet Loadmaster, and the famous Camea Cakes DIVCO Milk Truck with matching mini-me. However, going into great detail about the cars at this show wouldn’t do it justice (and frankly I got thoroughly distracted trying my hand at photographing planes), instead we should be talking about one of the planes. Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell you much of anything you can’t figure for yourself looking at the photos other than the model names. So, for fear of feeling like this blog post would be incomplete without at least one featured aircraft, allow me to tell you that the plane below is a 1973 Cessna 337G Super Skymaster. There were many other unique sights to see so check them out below!
