Cars For The Cause's 5th Annual Cruisin' For A Cure
Some cars had a lot of engine displacement, but all the drivers had a lot of heart.
Cars For The Cause hosted a fundraising event for children diagnosed with cancer and other diseases last weekend. Through the wonders of Facebook I found out about this event and decided to check it out on my Saturday morning. There were some familiar cars who are regulars are car shows around Wichita, but there were some surprises and as always some real gems on display from the automotive community.
Some cars that particularly caught my attention include a 1978 Chevrolet C3 Corvette Pace Car, a 1972 Plymouth Duster, and a 1964 Chevrolet Chevelle 2Door Wagon project car. The Pace Car was in good shape considering its age and had the sort of style that made the third generation outrageous and wonderful. The Duster is the classic Mopar that I never new I liked until I started paying attention and kept finding Dusters. This Duster was quite a sight with a stock, sporty appearance and details unique to the muscle car era. The Chevelle was a car that really surprised me when I can across it; the first thing I noticed was a spotless engine bay with a fairly recent LS engine, then I noticed the patina, and finally the long roof. If this Chevelle has a mild exhaust, it would be an amazing sleeper car with its long, patina covered roof and its nice, shiny engine. Check out these and some of the other sights below!
