Central & West Wichita
Another Friday night in Wichita, another Central & West.
Last weekend C&W had a slow start, but steadily gained attendees as the night went on and the temperature came down. There was quite a bit of hubbub about three heavily customized Camaros in attendance, all with ostentatious wraps and two with aftermarket scissor doors, but, the car that captured my attention, and held it with most enthusiasm, was a car I never could've expected: a modified AMC Eagle Sx4. Growing up with trucks and an admiration for sandrails, I've always liked the aesthetic of cars with no business being off road having big meaty tires and a lift kit. This AMC Eagle was an amazing example of when a manufacturer was just zany enough to attempt such a vehicle. Almost without exception, when a manufacturer decides to take one of their cars off the road, they're going rally racing and that's precisely what the Sx4 variant of the Eagle did, it went rally racing! Be sure to check out the Eagle Sx4 and some of the other sights below!
